Syria AI Foundation launch — recap
July 11, 2026 · DamascusSyria AI Foundation held its official public launch in Damascus on July 11, 2026. The event introduced SAIF's mission to build applied AI capability from Syria and the Levant.
The launch emphasized the need to document, structure, and prepare Syrian and Levantine knowledge, languages, dialects, archives, and institutional memory for the AI age.
The event drew strong public interest, which SAIF takes as encouragement to keep delivering on its long-term, institutional mission.
The launch introduced SAIF's four pillars of work:
- Applied Research & Trusted Data
- Agentic Systems
- Training & Capability-Building
- Standards & Responsible Adoption
